Assignment, Week 6: Photo Story Idea Formulation

For the second half of the semester you will be working on a photo story project - in-depth and possibly long-term coverage of a person/group, event, or trend.

The photo story won't be due til the end of the semester, but it's helpful to get started now to think about what you might want to cover. A recap of the typical types of photo stories:

Event stories: Cover the entire progression of an event, including planning, setup, aftermath.
Profile stories: Document an interesting person or group.
Trend stories: Document a trend or interesting (but not well-publicized) aspect of society.

Depending on the subject you choose, there may be some overlap between events, profiles, and trends. When documenting an event, you may want to cover the event organizers or participants in a manner similar to a profile. For trends, it's often helpful to choose a person or group as a representative of that trend, and profile them.
